Emmit Hadley Tilghman

April 21, 1919 - February 17, 2010

Emmit Hadley Tilghman, 90, widower of Louise Slatten Tilghman and Margaret Tutt Tilghman, died Wed., Feb. 17, 2010. A son of the late Daniel Lee and Mary Cloyd Tilghman, he was a retired farmer, local business owner, and member of Pisgah Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his daughter, Cornelia (Dickie) Ethington of Midway, two stepdaughters, Melissa (Randal) Russell of Frankfort and Lacy Green of Phoenix, AZ, six grandchildren, Page (Steve) Foster, Jamie Ethington, John Russell, Lesley Russell, Laura Nichols, Jack Green, and one great grandson, Cole Ethington. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Dave, Willard, Huey, John Willie, Howard, and Jack Tilghman, and two sisters, Ruth Richardson and Mary Lee Tilghman. Funeral services will be 11 am, Sat. Feb 20 at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Vic Priebe and Rev. Tom Allen officiating. Interment at Versailles Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randal Russell, John Russell, Jamie Ethington, Steve Foster, Donnie Richardson, and George “Pal” Hellard. Visitation is from 5 to 8 pm Fri., Feb 19 at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome while donations are suggested to Woodford Co. Senior Citizens, Woodford Humane Society, or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
