Harold Lay

April 28, 1927 - February 13, 2010

Ernest Harold Lay, 82, of Lawrenceburg, formerly of Woodford Co., a retired farmer, died Saturday, February 13, at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington. Born in Casey Co, he was the son of the late Harrison and Mattie Bell Leigh Lay. Survivors include his wife, Mildred “Mille” McKinney Lay of Lawrenceburg, a daughter, Jean Reinhardt of Parkersburg, West Virginia, a son, Wayne “Musky” (Frances) Lay of Versailles, eight grandchildren, Stephen Lay, Ralph Lay, Tracey Owens, Lee Reinhardt, David Reinhardt, Lyne Evans, Pam Mattingly, Tony Fields, and fourteen great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were three sons, Harold “Julio” Lay, Jr., Alvin Howard Lay, Jerry Dale Lay, a grandson, James Adkins, a sister, Laura Jane Owens, and seven brothers, Ray Lay, Thurman Lay, Thomas Lay, Amos Lay, Harvey Lay, Herman Lay, and Clifton Lay. Services are 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 17 at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Carter officiating. Interment is at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Kerry Markwell, Richard Lay, Tony Fields, Ralph Lay, Stephen Lay, and Lee Reinhardt. Honorary pallbearers are Herland Langford, Jack Adams, and Bobby Payton. Flowers are welcome while donations are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 208 Steele St., Frankfort, Ky. 40601.
