Raymond Cox, 98. retired long time Woodford County Road Department employee, the widower of Evelyn Brown Cox, died Tuesday, January 26 at his home. An Anderson County native, he was a son of the late William Andrew and Annie Pearl Cook Cox, and was a member of the Versailles Baptist Church. Survivors include his daughter, Rosemary (Mrs. Dave) Johnson of Versailles, a sister, Lorraine (Mrs. Carl) Phillips of Lexington, a granddaughter, Leisa McClain Newton and a great grandson, Raymond Curtis Newton, both of Lawrenceburg, three foster sisters, Christine True, Jenny Smith, Clara Ann Dozier, and a foster brother, Earl Baxter Moore. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Henry Cox and J. B. Cox, a foster sister, Mary Jo Moore, and two foster brothers, Herbert Moore and Billy Moore. Funeral services are RESCHEDULED TO 2:00 PM, Saturday, Jan. 30 at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home with Rev. John Brandon officiating. Interment will follow at the Versailles Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 208 Steele St., Frankfort, KY 40601.
