Obituary for Shirley Lucille Tuttle

Shirley Lucille Tuttle, 82, loving wife of James Tuttle, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at her home. She was born June 13, 1935 in Auburn, New York to the late Marrill Lovinus and Lucille Barclay Anderson Robinson. Shirley was an elementary school teacher and a missionary to Bolivia and Costa Rica, where she and James had many adventures. She was a member of Versailles United Methodist Church, Kentucky Retired Teachers, UMC Board of Global Ministries, and the Mission Society.


In addition to her parents Shirley was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jo Aseel and Ruth Jean Hiller. Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, James D. Tuttle and their two children, David L. Tuttle, and James A. Tuttle both of Versailles, grandchildren, Dawn Marie Tuttle, Versailles, Jonathan D. Tuttle, Jacksonville, FL, great-grandson, Xavier B. Young, Versailles, three nephews, David Aseel, Daniel Aseel, Robbie Aseel, and niece, Caroline Ballenger.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the Versailles United Methodist Church with Rev. Rebecca Peterson officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 3:00pm. Pallbearers will be David Tuttle, James Andrew Tuttle, Jonathan Tuttle, Dawn Tuttle, Cris Holsclaw, and Steve Tuttle. Memorial contributions are suggested to Versailles United Methodist Church Missionary Fund, 230 Paynes Mill Road, Versailles, KY 40383.
