Obituary for Gina Michelle Owsley

Gina Michelle Vannucci Owsley, 51, wife of Dwayne Scott Owsley was called home to heaven on Thursday, March 29, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was raised in Martin, Kentucky, the daughter of Annette Marie Catrone Vannucci and the late Rev. Lorie Vannucci.

Gina was a dedicated teacher at Southside Elementary School where she tirelessly provided the students with a smile and safe place to learn and grow.

In addition to her mother and her loving husband of 33 years Gina is survived by her four children, Christopher (Jessica) Owsley, Ryan Owsley, Lauren (Jeremy) Draper, Blake Owsley, sister, Renee (Joseph) Girdler, and seven grandchildren, Christian Owsley, Gabriel Mitchell, Abigail Mitchell, London Michelle Owsley, Brooks Owsley, Silas Draper, and Elijah Draper.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 also at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home, Rev. Joseph Girdler officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Draper, Steven Girdler, Bruce Mullins, Derrick Owsley, Dennis Clinger, Elias Edenstrom, Scott Hacker, Dr. John Paul Vick and Stanval Mullins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Christopher Owsley, Ryan Owsley, Blake Owsley, Ralph Spencer, Chad Wells and the Southside Elementary Staff. Burial will follow at Rose Crest Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Sojourn City Church, PO Box 911042, Lexington, KY, 40591.
